Anand Reddi is Director of Digital Innovation at Gilead Sciences Inc.  Since joining Gilead in 2014, Anand has held several positions with experiences in Access Operations & Emerging Markets, Public Health & Medical Affairs, International Operations & Corporate Affairs, Corporate Strategy and the Chief Patient Officer organization focused on patient centricity, digital patient solutions and patient centered outcomes. 

Anand’s global health contributions at Gilead include facilitating access to its medicines in resource limited settings.  His principal focus is catalyzing HIV and viral hepatitis health systems strengthening initiatives as well as innovative health financing partnerships in Africa and Asia.  He currently leads Gilead’s partnership with The Vatican to develop a decentralized HIV Test & Treat initiative in Shinyanga, Tanzania.  He also led an innovative partnership with MasterCard, The World Hepatitis Alliance and several NGO partners to expand access to Hepatitis C medicines in Pakistan featured by TED. 

Prior to Gilead, Anand was active in cancer basic science, clinical research and global health policy research.  His public health interests focused on global HIV/AIDS.  He was previously a Fulbright Scholar in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  His research was one of the first to demonstrate the benefits of a decentralized model of care on pediatric antiretroviral treatment outcomes despite the challenges of a resource-limited setting.   

Anand has also been active in global health policy issues.  His writings on global health have appeared in scientific journals such as Science, JAMA Pediatrics, AIDS, and JAIDS as well as in the opinion pages of The Huffington Post (as a featured contributor), The Washington Post and The New York Times. 

Anand is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and he studied medicine at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine.  He also serves on the board of directors of the Bay Area Global Health Alliance.  In 2016, he was an Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leader.
